Omnia is a Program Associate for Protection at InterAction’s Humanitarian Policy and Practice team since August 2023. She provides coordination and logistical support for the Results-Based Protection project, focusing on Action-Based Research on Conflict-Induced Food Insecurity and dissemination of the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Evaluation Framework (GBV-PEF). Additionally, Omnia supports InterAction members in GBV and Protection Working Group advocacy.
Previously, Omnia interned at the Heinrich Boell Foundation – North America and served as Volunteer Coordinator at the Sudanese Commission of Refugees (COR) and Content and Data Production Editor at Amna Safe, an NGO in Khartoum, Sudan, combating violence against women.
Omnia’s diverse experience includes roles as a Research Fellow at the Institute of African Studies at George Washington University and a Researcher for the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy at the International Literacy Association. She holds a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, with a focus on International Development and Africa, and a minor in Arabic Studies. Fluent in Arabic, Omnia enjoys exploring global music and reading on Anthropology, gender, Africa, and Islam in her leisure time.
